Roots of Resilience collaborated with two local food access projects— Goosefoot Community Farm and Nourishing Beloved Community — to purchase, install and convert a shipping container into a “micro-food-hub” offering cooler space, prep station and dry storage for community-based food distribution. This project prototyped how neighborhood based micro food hubs can supply critical infrastructure and grassroots food security.
This micro food hub creates space for multiple small farmers and community food access projects to prep, store and directly distribute locally grown food. We are excited to make improvements to the Farmhouse pick-up porch to facilitate more direct connections between growers and eaters, and increase access to nutritious local food.
